From Start To Finish – Getting Your Blog Known
What’s the point of creating something no one is going to read? At first, when I started putting my own blog together I didn’t really think about it; the whole thing was a challenge just to get off the ground. I have a feeling that’s how most bloggers get started – just using the Internet as if it was their own private diary.
But you soon realize that this notion is totally false: people are reading this thing that you’ve created. The second realization is you start wanting them to read it. Now that you’re at this stage and the novelty of merely writing posts for the sake of writing posts has passed, it’s time to start thinking about how to spread your genius over the Internet so it reaches as wide an audience as possible.
When I got to this stage I realized the importance of link-building. If you want people to stay interested in your blog, you have got to make certain you link like mad. Now that you’ve reached this point, the question of how to link and how to ensure you get the maximum amount of traffic to your blog becomes the key issue.
I found that V7n.com’s web directory was a life-saver in helping me put it all together. I got started blogging two years ago, and I’ve continued using their web directory to keep current on what’s going on in the world of SEO’s and link-building. It’s one of the best resources available to bloggers out there I think.
